The 954 and the 305 come face to face for one of this week’s top match ups. The Dania Bears’ 120 LB team will host this week’s Game of the Week against the 120 LB Kendall Hammocks Warriors. This is the first time these two powerhouse teams come together during the regular season. They’ve only played against one another once at a jamboree last year where the Warriors took the win 7-0.
The Kendall Hammocks Warriors 120 LB team, led by head Coach Raul Gonzalez is ready for an intense season. Coming off of a 14-1 season last year, they went to the Super Bowl where they came up short against the Cardinals. Coach Raul has literally seen this team grow up. Many of his players are going into their seventh season with the Warriors. They’ve won four championships together and they’re looking to make it five this year.
The Warriors have three heavy match ups right at the start of this season starting with this weekend’s game against the Dania Bears. Then the Warriors are up against Hialeah and North Miami Beach. The Warriors rivals, the Kendall Boys & Girls Club, are up later in the season. Coach Raul is confident saying, “This team is experienced, smart and resilient. They never give up.”
The Warriors Quarter Back, Pedro Jimenez is in his fourth season with the team. He’s known for being a composed leader on the field. Jimenez is a versatile player with a strong arm and also is a good scrambler, similar to Michael Vick or Cam Newton.
The secret weapon for the Warriors is really no secret out on the gridiron, #1 Shamar Monroe. Monroe plays both defense as a line backer and offense as a running back. Offensively, Monroe is almost unstoppable on the field. Last season he had 29 touch downs, 1100 yards rushing, and averaged just over 10 yards a carry. Defensively, he leads the team in tackles with 41 solo tackles. With a group of Warriors this strong, the Kendall Hammock Warriors are back on the war path!
