Its super bowl fever here at Milander stadium. Hundreds have gathered to see who will be crowned super bowl champions for the 135 pound division. You can just feel the energy in the stadium, and from the energy you can just tell that this was a big game. Two great teams are set to battle it out to see who will be crowned champions. The Kendall Hammocks Warriors, three time defending super bowl champs take on the Dania Beach Bears, which by paper seemed to be two evenly matched teams. Both teams come into the game with very stingy defenses allowing only 2.8 points per game. The Warriors enter the super bowl not only being undefeated this season, but undefeated for the last three years, winning the championship since 2008. Can any one stop this dynasty?

The Bears and Warriors met in week one of the season and it was a defensive battle with the Warriors pulling out the victory 8-0. With that, the Bears enter the game with confidence they can keep it close and knock off the undefeated Warriors.

Before the game Generation Nexxt was able to catch up with both coaches to talk a little bit of X’s and O’s. When asked what kind of approach will be used coming  into today’s game? The Warriors’ Head Coach Jose Cisneros said,“ Were going to  pound the ball down the field and as long as we execute we’ll come out on top”. He also added that they’re going to take advantage of the Bears only having 15 players suited up to play.

Coach Rick Huntley of the Dania Beach Bears said, “I know that this is a big game but the pressure is not on our boys, it’s on the Warriors.”On the Bears’ scouting report, there is not just one player to watch for, it’s the entire team. The Bears have played as a tight unit the entire season and have skilled positions across the board.

The Warriors come into the game with a three headed rushing attack which are the reason why Coach Jose Cisneros wants to pound the rock. #5 Harvey Clayton Jr. is the smash of the three, followed by #21 Christopher Mcwilliam Jr. who’s dash, and last but not least you have the cleanup man #1 Mehki Ervin. With these three leading the pack and an awesome defense, lead by Coach Bobby, it will be hard to knock off these group of Warriors.

You can feel the energy as we get set for kickoff. The Bears received the ball the first to officially get the MDXYFL 135 LB. championship underway.  On the first play of the game the Bears could’ve struck first with a blown coverage by the Warriors secondary, QB #1 Tyler Huntley for the Bears over threw wide open WR #5 Aaron Hayes. On the very next play the Warriors proved it was a mistake as Warriors’ defensive back #21 Christopher Mcwilliam Jr. would pick off the ball, giving the Warriors’ first and ten.

After the Warriors interception, it was all downhill for the Bears. The Warriors took advantage of the turnover and easily drove down field to score the first points of the game with a 10 yard td run by Christopher “Dash” Mcwilliams Jr. The TD run put the Warriors up 8-0 to end the first quarter. The second quarter proved to be a defensive struggle until the final seconds. The Warriors’ strong legged kicker #7 Corey Pastor kicked a field goal with 2:00 minutes left in the first half to put the Warriors up 11-0. On the ensuing position for the Bears, they make a very costly mistake, coughing up the football at their own 1 yard line which led to a Warriors’ TD with a QB sneak by #4 Alejandro Ros. At the half, the Warriors are up 18-0 on the Bears.

Entering the second half the  Warriors defense pinned their ears back and swarmed to the ball, shutting down the Bears offense that realized this was a championship caliber defense which pitched three shut outs in the post season. The game was then put away in the third quarter by the Warriors’ RB #30 Daniel Durham III who raced for a 5 yard TD to put the Warriors up 26-0 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

The Warriors proved yet again they had the most efficient offense, stellar defense and very special, special teams in the entire Xtreme Youth Football League. The Warriors have gone down in MDXYFL history as arguably one of the best teams to ever play in the Miami Dade Xtreme Youth Football League. The Kendall Hammocks Warriors are Back to Back to Back to Back Super Bowl Champions and look forward to defending their title in the Orange Bowl Championships and then ultimately in the Under Armour Youth Football State Championships! Congratulations to the Kendall Hammock Warriors!!!!!
