Running and competing has been in Myrka Cadet DNA since day one.

“We use to see her on the Football field with her older brother, and seen her beating all the boys, ” Myrka father, Stroud Cadet said. “So we decided to put her in Track, and ever since then she has been doing great things.”

In Myrka’s short career at the Miramar Optimist Track Club, Myrka has accumulated a gold and silver medal in 2012, and this past Saturday at the 9th annual youth Track invitation she placed 1st in the 4×1, 100 meter and 200 meter, and has competed on the highest level at the Junior Olympics since she has been involved in track.

“She has been our MVP this past two years,” Miramar’s head coach Chris McDonald said. “She is the top female athlete of the club.”

Having the passion for Track, Myrka’s work ethic at such a young age (9 years old) proves to show on the track.

“She loves it, she begs us to come to practice,” Myrka’s father said. “All the coaches will tell you that anything they ask her to run she is up for it, and that is why I think she is successful at it.”

Myrka, will continue to perform and excel at the Miramar optimist club under head coach Chris McDonald.

“He is a great coach,” Myrka Cadet said. “He tells me that we are working for times, and to continue to work hard.”

The sky is the limit for this future track star, and all her supporters believe that her talens will transition over to the main screen.

“Miramar is a great track club, they raise money to take the kids out of town,” Stroud said. “If she keeps working hard in the future, maybe we can see her on T.V, who knows.”
