GENERATION NEXXT IMPACT PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: DANNY MONTOYA

The 140 LB. Weston Warriors of the AYFL, currently sport a 10-0 record, quietly making a strong run into the 2012 playoffs. This experienced Warrior squad is used to knocking out the regular season wins and stepping it up in the playoffs.

With the core of this team remaining the same over the last four years, and at one time holding the longest AYFL consecutive winning streak, it is safe to say the Warriors are definitely a Super Bowl contender.

There is one thing that is different about this Warriors team this year, and that one thing wears number 28!  Danny Montoya, running back for the Weston Warriors, has exploded on the 140 LB. scene with 116 carries for 1,520 yards on the 2012 season thus far.

Danny has accounted for 18 of the Warriors’ touchdowns this season, which three of those scores came by special teams on dynamic punt returns. Gary Wain, Warriors’ assistant coach says, “This kid has a desire to win at everything he does. He always motivated, and willing to put in the hard work.”

This Warrior definitely runs with authority, speed and power and is known around the league for his bruising style of play. Keep your eye on Mr. Montoya as he gets ready to hit the high school grid iron, as he narrows down his choices between Cypress Bay High School, St. Thomas, The U School, or American Heritage.
